MELANIE GINGRAS, M.S. - Manager

Melanie Gingras is a Research Specialist and Manager for MANTIS Lab as well as a Physics Adjunct Professor for Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi (TAMUCC). She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware in Geology and her master’s degree in Coastal & Marine System Science at TAMUCC where she studied beach morphology using a terrestrial laser scanner (TLS). Her MANTIS job duties include collecting, processing, and organizing TLS data, writing lab SOPs, maintaining and updating the MANTIS website, and overseeing the creation of a MANTIS website repository for LiDAR and UAS data. Her research interests include the union and optimization of TLS and UAS data as it pertains to coastal morphology monitoring with an emphasis on coastal response to hurricanes.
